Crack the eggs into a shallow bowl that a slice of bread can fit into. Add the milk into the bowl of eggs and whisk thoroughly.
Drop a slice of bread into the mixture and turn to coat both sides of the bread. Repeat this process for the remaining two slices of bread and leave them to sit in the bowl for about a minute.
Heat the butter in a large frying pan and add the slices of bread. Ensure they are flat on the pan. Fry until both sides of the bread are golden brown. Transfer on a plate and allow to cool.
