Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, ¾ teaspoon of salt and 1½ teaspoon of baking powder to the large mixing bowl. Stir in 80 millilitres of milk and the egg until well combined. Fold in the apple (previously chopped).
Pour the oil in a saucepan so that it is approximately 1½ inch deep. Heat the oil on high. The oil is hot when a little dough thrown into it floats.
Scoop the dough carefully into the oil and fry until all sides are brown. Transfer to a paper towel to absorb the oil and then to a cooling rack.
Make a glaze by stirring the icing sugar and the remaining milk together. Drizzle over apple fritters and allow to harden for about 3 minutes. Flip and repeat the same process.
