It’s never too late to give the children a lasting holiday memory. A bite of this gnocchi will leave the children singing your praise all day. Surprisingly, this magic of a meal was performed with semolina so do not underestimate any ingredient.
Ingredients
100 g
500 g
2 cups
4 tbsp
1 pc
1 tsp
1 tsp
2 tbsp
Method
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a medium pan over medium-low heat. Add the tomatoes (chopped) and a pinch of salt and allow to cook for about 8-10 minutes.
While the tomatoes are cooking, make the semolina gnocchi. Bring the milk to boil in a medium saucepan. Turn off the heat once you see tiny bubbles forming around the rim of the milk surface.
Whisk in the paprika and a pinch of salt. Add the semolina flour and continue whisking. Break the egg and add the yolk. Whisk for few minutes until a firm cream is formed.
Pour the semolina mix into a rectangular glassware and spread evenly. Allow the mix to cool down completely, this may take about 30-40 minutes. Alternatively, allow to cool in a refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
Pour the tomato sauce into an ovenproof pan (preferably use a ceramic pan) and spread evenly at the bottom.
Flip the semolina gnocchi on a flat surface and cut out some stars using a star-shaped biscuit cutter of different sizes. Place the star randomly on the tomato sauce and sprinkle each star with the cheese (grated) and a few drops of oil.
Bake the gnocchi in a preheated oven at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes. And add 5 minutes in broil mode.
Serve warm.
