“Entrepreneur is not a title but a mindset. It requires a good dose of madness for an incredibly rewarding life” said Vincenzo Carrara, CEO of Todd & Marlon LLC.
There may be so many entrepreneurs – but make no mistake, it is a tricky and tough terrain. Only those who think and act differently can make it.
Entrepreneurs are surely a different breed – they think differently, act differently and look at things in a different manner. The end goal for an entrepreneur is to keep overcoming obstacles, growing sales, and making money, ad infinitum.
Have you ever wondered if were cut out to be an entrepreneur? There is no foolproof route to entrepreneurial success, but there are some traits, which are inherent in successful entrepreneurs.
Successful entrepreneurs are known to be shrewd and skeptical, and are unlikely to take people — or even data — at their word. They may require concrete evidence to take that first step and demand a variety of opinions before supporting a decision for their business, employees or customers.
Entrepreneurship brings many responsibilities with itself –running expenses like salary, rent, bills have to be paid on a regular basis irrespective of profit or loss. Therefore, a true businessman/woman knows to always take things seriously because at end of the day, they are responsible for the business.
Defy the status quo
Starting a business defies conventional wisdom. In fact, as an entrepreneur, you must love breaking the rules. If you always question why people do the things they do and strive to make things better, then you’ll make a good entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurs worth their salt are motivated to give their all and keep pushing towards success. They possess a high level of self-awareness and are achievement-oriented individuals who can be overwhelming, single minded and focused only on results.
Most successful businessmen will tell you they are fueled by a passion for their product or service, and not money. At those times when you spend an excessive amount of time and do not make a profit, only passion will keep you going.
With entrepreneurs, short-term gains are secondary when not in line with the big picture. They seem to channel their anxiety and fear of failure towards a long term goal. This can lead them to make decisions and constantly think of ways to competitively position their business.
This is really just old-fashioned stick-to-it-iveness. The ability to push through obstacles for years on end –all successful entrepreneurs have it. It is also that uncanny ability to create unlikely partnerships from out of nowhere because of your ability to connect the dots.
High levels of imagination and empathy are need in entrepreneurship for creativity and innovation. Entrepreneurs can easily read where their business is heading and position their startup for success as they outpace their competition.
You realize that a white collar job is not the safest and you’re simply opposed to relying on a boss who could ruin your career after one unavoidable mistake.
Entrepreneurs are pragmatic people who aren’t opposed to leaving their day jobs and a secure future. They would gladly risk everything just to follow their dreams. This is not easy and definitely it’s not something that many people would do.
Many people may be satisfied with a couple of trending business ideas but not you. You can spot an opportunity and imagine something where others haven’t. Like all good entrepreneurs, you have a curiosity that identifies overlooked niches and puts you at the forefront of innovation and emerging fields.
Herd mentality is one thing that successful entrepreneurs definitely avoid. They are always be ready to take the road less travelled and to land into something new. Some of the best things that the world has got like Apple, Facebook happened just because few people had the courage to do something innovative.
